Rabka to niewielkie miasto (ponad 13.000 mieszkańców) mające status uzdrowiska. Założone zostało w XII w. i już wtedy miejscowość znana była z solanek, które wykorzystywali cystersi. Jednak dopiero w 1858 przeprowadzono badania potwierdzające skład mineralny tutejszych wód i w 1864 otwarto pierwszy zakład leczniczy, a w 1872 zakład dla dzieci, którym szczególnie sprzyja klimat Rabki. W czasie okupacji hitlerowcy szkolili tu policjantów. Po wojnie Rabka urosła do rangi jednego z największych ośrodków leczenia chorób płucnych.
Rabka is a small city (more than 13,000 inhabitants) with the status of the spa. It was founded in the XII century, and even then the village was known from brines, used the Cistercians. But in 1858 they conducted studies confirming the mineral composition of local waters and in 1864 they opened the first medical institution, and in 1872 the facility for children, for whom the climate Rabka is really benefiting. During the occupation the Nazis trained police officers here. After the war Rabka grown into one of the largest centers of treatment of diseases of the lungs.
