Krompach to mała wieś na samej granicy Czech i Niemiec, istniejąca od XIV w. jako osada młynarska. Później głównym zajęciem mieszkańców było szklarstwo, aż wreszcie tkactwo. Od XIX w. jest to miejscowość turystyczna. Zachowało się tu wiele domów z XVIII i XIX w.
