Erice to miasto (25000 mieszkańców) na zachodzie Sycylii, założone już w V w. pne z uwagi na swoje świetne położenie strategiczne, na szczycie góry. O miasto walczyli Grecy, Kartagińczycy, Rzymianie, którzy opanowali miasto w 241 i w zasadzie panują tu do dziś. Miasto leży 750 m npm, więc bywa, że miasto spowija gęsta mgła, nawet jeśli zaraz nad morzem, czyli 2 km dalej, jest 25 stopni ciepła. Miasto jest często odwiedzane przez turystów, a spowija je aura tajemniczości.  

Erice is a town (25,000 inhabitants) in western Sicily, founded in the V century BC because of its excellent strategic position, on top of a mountain. The city fought the Greeks, Carthaginians, Romans, who conquered the city in 241 and generally, they prevail here today. The city lies 750 m above sea level, so it happens that a dense fog goes around the city, even if at the seaside there's 25-degree heat, the sea is 2 km away. The city is often visited by tourists, and envelops them in an aura of mystery.
