Sloup to wieś w kraju libereckim, istniejąca od XIV w., kiedy należała do rodziny Ronovec, posiadającej tu zamek. W XV w. zamek podbił rycerz Mikeš Pančiř i zamieszkał wraz z rodziną i spadkobiercami do XVI w., kiedy zamek opustoszał. W XVII w. Szwedzi zrujnowali zamek i od tej pory pozostaje on ruiną, w której mieszkali pustelnicy, którzy wydrążyli dodatkowe komnaty w skałach. W XIX w. rodzina Kinskich zamieniła ruiny w atrakcję turystyczną. Dziś we wsi działa sporo pensjonatów i fantastyczny kemping nad jeziorem.       

Sloup is a village in the Liberec Region, founded in the XIV century when it belonged to the family Ronovec, which had a castle here. In the XV century the castle was conquered and settled by the knight Pancir Mikeš with his family and heirs, where they lived till the XVI century, when the castle was abandoned. In the XVII century, the Swedes ruined castle and since then it remains a ruin, where hermits lived, who dug an additional chambers in the rocks. In the XIX century the Kinsky family turned the ruins  into a tourist attraction. Today, the village has a lot of fantastic B&Bs and camping at the lake.

BRZESKO

Brzesko to małe miasto (ok. 17.000 mieszkańców), słynne w całym kraju i nie tylko z browaru Okocim. Osadnictwo na tym terenie sięga czasów rzymskich i wieku II n.e. W 1385 Brzesko otrzymało prawa miejskie, a handel i rzemiosło rozwijało się bez większych przeszkód. W XIX w. miasto było w zaborze austriackim i od połowy XIX w. przez miasto przechodziła kolej Kraków - Lwów. W 1904 miasto spustoszył pożar. Dziś jest to senne miasteczko z dużym browarem.

Brzesko is a small town (17,000 inhabitants), famous throughout the country and not only there for the brewery Okocim. The settlements in this area are dated back to Roman times and the second century AD. In 1385 Brzesko received municipal rights and trade and craft developed without major obstacles. In the XIX century the city was under Austrian rule, and in the mid-nineteenth century, the railway passed through the city from Krakow to Lviv. In 1904, fire devastated the city. Today it is a sleepy town with a large brewery.

Pałac Goetzów
Pochodzi z pierwszej połowy XIX w. dla właścicieli browaru. Po wojnie mieściło się tu liceum.  Obecnie z powrotem w rękach Goetzów

Goetz palace
Built in the first part of the XIX c. for the owners of the brewery. After the war there was a high school here. Right now it's in the Goetz's  hands again.
